The bursar holds responsibility for the financial administration of the university under the guidance and direction of the Vice-Chancellor and he is entrusted with the university funds.  As a fulltime officer he maintains the Mahapola scholarship and other bursary allowances and there is an Assistant Bursar to assist his duties.  The bursar is appointed by the Council as a university officer.
Apart from the university payments the accounts branch deals with all the activities related to the goods and services.  Students can approach the branch for any related payment. The Mahapola scholarship and bursary allowances can be claimed by the students through the cashier counter of the accounts branch.
